What is fiber pigtail

Optical fiber pigtail refers to a fiber optic cable that has only one end connector and the other end is a bare fiber with a core of the fiber optic cable. It needs to be connected to the core of other fiber optic cables by fusion splicing.

Fiber pigtails support field-welding terminal connection applications and are generally installed where they are protected and need to be spliced. Therefore, fiber pigtails are mostly connected to fiber management equipment such as fiber distribution frames, splice boxes and fiber distribution boxes.
